Collection: Residency Pottery
Recently, I packed my bags and headed to Lindsborg, KS, to spend the month wandering the town and basking in the Swedish decorations called Kurbits. These designs inspired the decorations that I brushed onto a batch of my hand thrown pottery. Each piece was made on the pottery wheel by me in the months leading up to the residency. Then, I used ceramics paints called "underglazes" to embellish each piece. My mission was to collect motifs and stories to tell using my pottery and decorations. It was such a fun adventure and I have loved seeing how these traditional techniques could be drawn from in these pieces.Â
If you would like to add one of these designs to your collection, I would love to recreate it for you! Since they will be made to order, each piece will take about 3-4weeks to make.Â
